An experienced Concierge / Guest Relations Executive is sought for this full-service hotel.  The successful candidate will be responsible for: 

  • Promoting all revenue outlets of the hotel. 
  • Booking of Tours for the guests
  • Booking and recommending of other services for the guests: e.g.: massages, baby sitting, theater seats, movie tickets etc.
  • Ensuring thorough knowledge of restaurant and tours (both company and destinations) to recommend to guests
  • Taking care of all restaurant bookings for guests
  • Assisting and booking hired cars on guests’ behalf
  • Assist guests in arranging transfers to restaurants, museums, galleries, to the airport, from the airport etc.
  • Handling the guest or hotel car when required
  • Relaying key information about guests to other departments by means of Opera functions (traces)
  • Assists with check-ins and check-outs if and when required 
  • Charging of sundry expenses such as Robben Island Tickets, Postcards, ATF, Photocopies, Phone calls, Faxes, Internet etc.
  • Continuous update of the Guest History
  • Maintaining concierge desk and back office areas clean and tidy
  • Secure Handling guest lost property
  • Managing concierge emails
  • Accurate and timeous reporting of all ‘glitches’
  • Seemless and accurate communication of all guest requirements and movements to all departments with consistent follow-up to completion
  • Coordinates departmental Induction programme to required standard
  • Assisting in training of new staff
  • Uses experience with guests and their requirements to formulate and present innovative service options


  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • A Hospitality Management qualification is a strong recommendation
  • Experience in the Front of House department of the hospitality industry
  • Very groomed and professional in approach
  • Outgoing, vibrant personality 
  • Experience in Property Management Systems
  • Developing and nurturing interpersonal relationships (with guests, suppliers and colleagues alike)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in  English (Verbal, Written, Reading), excellent written and verbal communication with people on all levels
  • Conversational proficiency in another language is a recommendation
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Have the ability to work under pressure
  • Enjoy anticipating and exceeding guest expectations
  • Able to work shifts during the week, weekend and public holidays
  • Must have own, reliable transport
