5* Boutique Hotel in the KZN Midlands is looking for a General Manager to ensure that the following functions are managed/undertaken to a high professional standard, which you will delegate amongst your management team as appropriate.

  • Maintain and ensure the good will of the brand at property level;
  • Ensure the developed set of standards are upheld and maintained;
  • Ensure the management perform to the company standards
  • Ensure the management structure of hotel is streamlined and effective and in line with hospitality trends;
  • To earmark and develop individuals who show potential to grow into positions;
  • To manage the implementation of training plans;
  • Provide effective leadership through professional employee relations and encouragement of all subordinates, including mediation.
  • To build and maintain good employee relations, ensure HR policies, procedures & disciplinary codes are upheld;
  • Strategically initiate & develop succession plans within the employee base;
  • Maintain and support good relations within the surrounding communities.
  • Compliance to all operational expenditure budgets during the annual budget setting, process for presentation to the Owner;
  • To ensure compliance with set operational variable costs;
  • Prepare detailed reports on revamps, repairs and maintenance of rooms to include budget for approval by Owner

Requirements: 

  • Matric & a formal qualification
  • At least 3-5 years experience as a General Manager at 5* level
  • Excellent communciation skills
  • Good report writing skills
  • Flexible and willing to live in (single)
  • Own car and valid drivers license
