Kendrick Recruitment are now seeking a strong Restaurant Manager for a Fine Dining Restaurant situated in Sandton. We are ideally seeking someone who has 3 years’ experience within a management role at a busy upmarket restaurant. Within this role you will be responsible for the overall day to day operation of the restaurant.

Key Requirements:

• Matric
• Must have own reliable transport
• A qualification in the hospitality industry would be advantageous
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Micros
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent leadership skills and the ability to motivate and train team members.
• Ability to work under pressure and assertive decision making
• Must have strong managerial skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills for diplomatically handling staff and customers;
• The ability to work independently and confidently to make your own decisions;
• Problem-solving ability to resolve issues as they arise;
• Ability to multitask in an upscale, high volume environment with efficiency;
• The candidate should be enthusiastic, energetic, passionate, creative and be a team player – he/she should be able to take initiative and go the extra mile;
• Be restaurant fit and able to work within a stressful environment, serve at least 100 customers.

Responsibilities:

• Overall managerial and operational responsibility of the restaurant.
• Opening and Closing of the Restaurant
• Achieve the budgets and overall profitability of the shop
• Manage and lead the management team and staff.
• Manage overall stock control
• Responsible for customer service and complaint follow-up
• Recruitment and induction of all floor, kitchen staff, retail and managers
• Identify training needs and execute training programmes
• Responsible for the monthly payroll
• Performance management, staff shifts, resignation/ termination checklists, staff notice boards, staff reviews, etc.
