A busy Hotel in East London is seeking an Events Manager to manage the events and staff to ensure guest satisfaction at all times as well as to co-ordinate, plan and execute all aspects of functions within the Hotel. 

Duties include but not limited to; 

  • Ensure effective staff planning to provide the exceptional service delivery
  • Ensure correct set-up, according to required standards.
  • Ensure stipulated food cycle & quality / taste / presentation as per standard
  • Ensure all standard procedure are in place – opening / closing paperwork are implemented daily / staff requirements met (uniform, tools, prep,etc.)
  • Recruit staff as per the approved budget
  • Induct all staff.
  • Train and Develop staff.
  • Conduct progressive discipline.
  • Conduct performance appraisals.
  • Ensure budgets is achieved and maintained without adverse effects on other aspect of the business. (eg. Wages not to exceed budget %.
  • Ensure cash procedures implemented correctly and maintained as per policy & procedure
  • Ensure accurate salary administration and a clear understanding of relevant calculations
  • Ensure all administrative aspects/ tasks of the business are accurately performed
  • Enforce F&B controls through correct stock take and requisition procedures – actively follow up variances daily and weekly
  • Ensure that customer complaints are handled timeously and effectively with the aim of recovering the customer’s loyalty – as per company policy & procedure
  • Actively build relationships and communicate daily with all customers / employees
  • Enforce waste separation by all FOH staff
  • Maintain & monitor hygiene and cleanliness standards in all departments
  • Maintain and monitor the proper use and storage of all company assets (equipment, furniture, telephones, accessories, etc)
  • Introduce and maintain a cleaning procedure for all company assets
  • Maintain the Health and Safety procedures of the Hotel

Minimum Requirements:

  • Relevant Diploma and/or 2-3 years’ experience in a similar environment
  • PC literate
  • Proven track record
