About the position

Manage and co-ordinate processes of the various operational sites with regards to strategic planning and operational execution that will enhance service standards, maintain relations with all role players to enable the business to grow profitably within the fleet / transport industry

  • Manage overall transportation operations, including operations, finance and budgeting, and strategic planning
  • Direct, guide, and support operational team and engineering division
  • Manage and coordinate depot operations departments following standard company processes, policies, and procedures
  • Align resource management (manpower and asset) strategy with business strategy across different business units
  • Anticipate emerging transport operations parameters to determine future resource requirements
  • Build a culture of business process improvements that extend beyond project life cycle
  • Communicate importance of achieving transportation operation timeframe outcomes with efficient use of resources
  • Develop strategic positioning of transportation operations
  • Drive the successful completion of projects
  • Assess and improve fleet/transport management strategy across different plans
  • Identify strategic priorities of each specific transport link in development of plans
  • Influence stakeholders' perspectives of requirements and activities
  • Develop innovative solutions for driving change
  • Review areas in logistics operations where technology can enhance processes
  • Review better ways to approach problems through synthesising and reorganising the problem information

Qualification / Skills / Knowledge Required

  • Nat Dip / Degree Road Transportation / Logistics
  • Min 5 years' experience on a Senior level
  • Experience with transportation operations is essential
  • Ability to analyse, recommend, and implement solutions to complex operational problems and issues
  • Considerable knowledge and skill in assisting with preparation, development and administration of short- and long-range, strategic operational plans, comprehensive reports and documents
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, stakeholders and Board members
  • Ability to contribute to senior leadership, lead and work in teams and inspire staff
